A word or two about the design of this site:   While pretty graphics might appeal to some, my purpose is to transfer information.   Therefore I have kept this site “simple” - read “K.I.S.S.” - so that access by the slower modem folks isn’t hampered ... and

… in order to format all of the items on this site it was necessary to learn a thing or two about:

Microsoft Word                          MS FrontPage                   MS Movie Maker

MS PowerPoint                           MS Excel                          MS Picture Manager

html                                          Java Script                        web browsers

IBM Universe/Red Hat Linux        FTP                                  and, of course, Windows* (Damn!)

I make no claim to be a web page expert.  This site is a "hobby" used to archive humor and to distribute the free "Pick" tools.

I suggest that one can navigate around here with ease but if you need some help:

Some trivia:     My business license name - SQUASH was chosen back in the late 70’s.   I was doing some moonlighting for a fellow who would not write a check to an individual for IRS reasons; ergo - I needed a name to go on the business license.   I was on the way to the courthouse in Alexandria , VA. - racking my brain - when I recalled an article I had read about these two fellows in California who had started something out of their garage called Apple.

OK!   I figured if they could get into fruit, then I could get into vegetables; so I picked the one that I hated.   You know - give the word a different meaning.   Maybe I should have chosen fruit - I’m still a sole proprietor and they are like huge.   Oh well - at least people remember both names.

About the Windows "*":   To date I have managed to get through life without owning a computer.   My clients have always supplied a development / support system for my use.

The day that I must take my own money and purchase a computer, I'll buy the last Mac ever built before I purchase a Wintel box.
